2007 Pro Bowl Three Bengals in Pro Bowl
The Bengals crowned three Pro Bowl players as right tackle Willie Anderson and wide receiver Chad Johnson became just the fifth and sixth players to be named for a fourth time. Carson Palmer became the first Bengals quarterback to go to back-to-back Pro Bowls since Boomer Esiason in 1988-89. Palmer became the franchise’s first 4,000-yard passer in a season. Anderson and Johnson are starters and Palmer is a backup. Fullback Jeremi Johnson is a first alternate, running back Rudi Johnson and left guard Eric Steinbach are second alternates, and wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is a third alternate. The AFC and NFC teams are selected by players, coaches, and fans. The Pro Bowl will be played in Honolulu, Hawaii at Aloha Stadium on February 10, 2007. Kickoff for the 2007 Pro Bowl will be 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Palmer nominated for honor
QB Carson Palmer was announced by the Bengals as their winner of the Ed Block Courage Award. The award honors NFL players who demonstrate commitment to the values of sportsmanship and courage. Each of the 32 NFL teams selects one player as its nominee. Palmer started every game for the Bengals in 2006, returning from a serious knee injury suffered in the 2005 season playoffs against Pittsburgh.

Palmer was selected to the AFC Pro Bowl team for the second consecutive year. He threw for 4,035 yards. Palmer also threw for 28 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer was a finalist for the FedEx Express Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Palmer won the award last season. The award was based on fan voting. Palmer became the first Bengals quarterback to throw for more than 4,000 yards this season despite having to rehab his way back from major knee surgery last January. He finished with 4,039 yards passing to along with 28 touchdowns and just 13 interceptions, while completing 62.3 percent of his passes for a passer rating of 93.9.
