BENGALS FIRE BOB BRATKOWSKI
ESPN.COM

CINCINNATI -- The Bengals fired longtime offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski on Monday, the first change in their coaching staff following a 4-12 season that is still reverberating through the franchise.

The move came two weeks after quarterback Carson Palmer asked to be traded because of the franchise's futility. The Bengals have only two winning records in the last 20 years.

"I want to thank Bob for his role in helping us win two division championships," coach Marvin Lewis said. "But after reviewing our season in depth, we've decided it's best for the team to make this change at this time." more>

2011 Pro Bowl Bengals Whitworth Snubbed From Pro Bowl
Through 15 games this year, Andrew Whitworth is rated as the league's second-best tackle, second-best pass blocker and one of the best run blockers according to Pro Football Focus. Yet, when the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl was announced Tuesday night, Whitworth's name was omitted from the roster. Few analysts called Whitworth's omission a snub, simply because Joe Thomas, Jake Long and D'Brickashaw Ferguson are having fine seasons in their own respects. But they're also the most recognized of the bunch and if you break it down, all four offensive tackles are very close in terms of production.

Cincinnati Bengals Ravens settle into No. 5 seed, hold off Bengals in final tuneup
Associated Press

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens were already in the playoffs, so their focus on the final day of the regular season was to gain momentum and hope for a little luck.
They took care of the first part -- albeit shakily -- and got no help with the second part.
Ed Reed had two interceptions and Ray Lewis recovered two fumbles, part of an opportunistic defense that carried the Ravens over the Cincinnati Bengals 13-7 Sunday. more>
